Running for biz or pitch?

If you are interested in running for business manager or musical director, please prepare a ~5-10 minute proposal of your vision for the year with you in charge. Be sure to touch on why you are interested in the position, your overall vision and goals for Whim 2026, and how your leadership style will fit the group. We'll ask you a few questions afterward.

Pitch candidates: your proposal should address why you're interested in being pitch, what your general and musical visions for the year are, your rehearsal style and approach to learning music, and what dynamics you plan to cultivate with group members and with the leadership team. Please also prepare a 20-minute mock rehearsal. You'll be leading the group in working on Pink Pony Club in our current repertoire (see the folder of materials here, and the overall audition guide here). Lead rehearsal as if we've all just learned our parts but haven't yet rehearsed as a group for musicality. Feel free to reach out to Violet (violet.barnum@yale.edu) with any questions or clarifications!

Biz candidates: your proposal should include a sample calendar for the year, so think about how you will support your tour plans with an overview of semester gigs, tour dates, and potential destinations. Feel free to reach out to Sarah (sarah.shapiro@yale.edu) with any questions or clarifications!

Sign-ups for auditions are live here. If you are running for Business Manager or Musical Director, be sure to sign up for two consecutive slots.
